Collecting signatures to make the Aaron Burr house a museum

If you are new to the Aaron Burr House movement, we’re a small group of history buffs from West Village, Greenwich, New York, who would like to see the Aaron Burr townhouse on Commerce Street be officially named a museum. We call ourselves the West Village Historical Society, and our goal is to turn the Aaron Burrs old house into a museum in an effort to preserve it as a piece of history.

Collecting signatures to make the Aaron Burr house a museum

For those who are wondering how our effort has been going, we are happy to annouce that we’ve decided to start a petition by collecting signatures on the streets of Greenwich and New York in general in an attempt to show the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission of the overwhelming support that our goals have. We hope that we won’t be disappointed and that we’ll manage to acquire the 10 000 signatures until December.

Folks who want to help out with the petition should get in touch with us. There’s currently 10 of us who are working on making our goal, in our spare time. So far we’ve collected around 500 signatures in about 2 weeks, which means that we need to seriously pickup the pace if we are to meet our goals. Any help is appreciated so get in touch with us. At the very least send us a message to show support for our cause. Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon. Bye.
